SIP Trunks

Tips, tricks and support

The following is a list of the tasks explained in this topic that are required to configure SIP Trunks to connect a MiVoice Office 250 PBX with the CloudLink Gateway:

Note

As a best practice during configuration, change the Operating State to “maintenance mode” and set the Call Failure Threshold to “0” (disable alarm). Otherwise you will get nuisance alarms during the initial setup.

Create the SIP Trunk Group

In the MiVoice Office 250 PBX, navigate to System > Devices and Feature Codes > SIP Peers > SIP Trunk Groups.
From the SIP Trunk Groups folder, to create a SIP Trunk Group for the trunks that will connect to the CloudLink Gateway, select the 'Create SIP Trunk Group from Template' option and select the CloudLink.stg template.

Configuration Folder Settings

In the Configuration folder of the new SIP Trunk Group, configure or verify the following settings:
  • IP Address = CloudLink Gateway IP Address
  • Call Configuration = Set to the next available number (typically "2"). This number should match the Call Configurations folder number assigned to CloudLink. See the Call Configuration Note below for instructions.
  • Operating State = In-Service (the system may switch to Out-of-Service automatically if the connection to the SIP Trunk is lost)
  • Maximum Number of Calls = This value cannot be set in the template (it is automatically generated based on the available licenses and number of SIP Trunks in this group)
  • Use ITU-T E.164 Phone Number = Yes
  • Use Peer Address In From Header = Yes
  • Disable Domain Validation = Yes
  • DTMF Decoding Payload = 101

If a customer has no prior SIP Trunks in the PBX, then look in the "1 Local" folder. The Call Configuration folder number set in the Configuration Folder Settings instructions above must match the folder number associated with the CloudLink SIP Trunks.
